I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. I have a Bachelor’s of Visual Arts and have worked in different fields of art for more than 10 years. I stablished in Houston since 2012, and I live with my husband and 2 years old daughter.
As an artist I mostly work in painting and illustration but I have a profound interest in exploring and learning other media, I have worked with wood carving, weaving, textiles, digital media and photography to mention some.
I am inspired by cartoons, children’s books, nature, music, movies, the 80's, esotericism, traditional cultures from all over the world, food and human condition. My art is characterized by its irony and mockery of important matters, I have a deep interest in identity and the transgression of transculturation. As individuals we are recognized through the eyes of everyone else with their opinions about us and the labels they give us. Our individuality is blurred by generalized judgments of where we come from and it is even transformed for good by new cultures that impose upon us. We are us, but we are others at the same time.
