Claire Drennan Knitwear

A fiber artist and textile designer, Claire Drennan’s work is rooted in craft and sustainability. Working with vintage knitting looms and a local knitting mill, she creates whimsical pieces from sustainable and recycled materials using processes that create little or no waste. Originally from East Tennessee, Claire has lived in Charleston, SC, Santiago, Chile and Boston, MA. For the past four years, she has made her creative home in Houston’s East End.

In 2017, Claire was selected for the inaugural class of Houston First’s “Launch” initiative to support local designers. Claire was also a charter member of “Artist Inc,” an artist incubator program through Fresh Arts and The Mid America Arts Alliance. Her work has been featured at  City Hall, the East End Esplanade, the Silos on Sawyer, MECA and Canal Street Studios. Claire has appeared in ArtHouston Magazine, Houstonia and the Houston Chronicle.
