I have a love for everything vintage and all handmade projects. I had wanted to start an etsy store for years before I opened my shop in March 2013 but had not yet decided on a focus. At the time I had been playing around with making candles for myself and for friends as gifts. Once I perfected my candle making and found a "signature" scent I opened my online store. One of my favorite candles is diptyque baies so I came up with something very similar, a blend of Fresh cut roses and red currant. I started out making all of my candles in vintage cups and tea cups or whatever I come across during my estate sale browsing, thrift store shopping, garage sale scrounging and antiquing. I've recently expanded to signature apothecary jars, wood wick tumblers, and tin travel candles. I have also added 3 new scents in the past year and plan on adding more!
I'm orignally born and raised in Louisiana but summer 2014 I moved to Houston, TX to be a newly wed with my husband. I'm a structural engineer by day and a candle pourer/interior design enthusiast by night and weekends. We live in the historic district in a bungalow from the 1930s that we renovated! Check out my blog, elliondecor, for some of our renovation posts as well as decor inspiration!
I make my candles with a blend of paraffin and soy wax and cotton wicks or wood wicks. The best part about my vintage candles (or jar candles!) is that after your candle is burned completely you can use the containers for multiple other purposes around the house.
