A Fond Farewell

My darling Heartmade artists and Houston art community,

When I had the idea for what would become the Heartmade Art Market, I wanted to accomplish two things: raise money for a deserving organization, and provide an opportunity for local artists to connect with the community. I was incredibly blessed to have Sonja Fulbright join me as a partner in making this dream a reality, and with the additional help and support of the Downtown District, we were able to create wonderful markets that featured artists from across the city and, eventually, the entire state of Texas. I’ve loved every moment of getting to meet new artists, mentor those just starting out, and introduce some outstanding talents to Houston.

Working on Heartmade has been an amazing experience, and now it’s time for me to move in a new direction. I’ll still be focused on helping people, too, pursuing an education and career as a counselor and therapist. I could not be more thrilled to be leaving the market in Sonja’s incredibly capable hands. She’s a dear friend and wonderful artist, and I know that she’ll continue to bring to Heartmade the same spirit of community and connection that have made it so meaningful over the past few years.

Thank you to every artist, vendor, volunteer, and attendee who’s been a part of Heartmade so far. You made it truly special, and I can’t wait to see where things go from here.

All my best,
Tracy
